Now that the identity of Deep Throat has been revealed, the letdown is setting in. It seems as if almost an entire mini-industry developed around the mythic cult of Deep Throat. Now we find that Deep Throat is simply a 91 year-old man, who apparently was upset that he didn't get a promotion that he wanted, so he decided to start leaking to Woodward and Bernstein, assisting - although not profoundly - in the takedown of a president. To find out who he really was seems so anticlimactic; just diminishes the legend.
Still, what is the world going to be like without the myth and cult of Deep Throat?
