If you'd like to see the state of the left these days, head on over to the Boston Globe and read this by Derrick Z. Jackson.

An excerpt:

"[E]very invoking of the innocents also reminds us of our despicable, cowardly killing of innocent Iraqi civilians....[T]his posturing of America as the great innocent, when everyone knows we kill innocents ourselves, is likely only to make us look more like the devil in the eyes of a suicide bomber."

The difference, which the obtuse Mr. Jackson either does not know or want to acknowledge, is that the United States does not have a policy of engaging in the deliberate killing of civilians while conducting a war. Those who conducted the 7/7 bombings are cowards, and come from the worst sort of evilness. Their killing does not discriminate between armed soldiers and innocent civilians. They plant bombs, and then scamper away so they can sit in front of their televisions and watch the results of their dastardly work. They gleefully videotape themselves sawing the head off of helpless, unarmed civilians. They kidnap and gleefully murder unarmed women, who have given a huge portion of their lives in an effort to help those who the pathetic Islamo fascists claim to protect. Remember Margaret Hassan?

To even begin to attempt to compare the behavior of the United States during the war to the actions of these jihadist terrorists is contemptible beyond belief.

Meanwhile, the Minneapolis Star Tribune would like to take us back to a law enforcement approach against terrorists, and Captain Ed explains why this has failed in the past, and why it won't work now.
