Fox News is reporting multiple explosions at an Egyptian resort:

CAIRO, Egypt — At least two large blasts rocked an Egyptian resort early Saturday morning, heavily damaging a hotel, witnesses said.

Four people were killed and ten were wounded in the explosions at the Red Sea tourist resort of Sharm el-Sheik (search), according to Reuters, which also reported that the blasts were caused by four car bombs.

The explosions could be felt miles from the site and smoke was seen rising from the area, witnesses said.

One blast hit the Ghazala Gardens (search) hotel, a four-star resort on the main tourist strip in the Naama Bay area of Sharm el-Sheik, witnesses said. A second blast was heard in the Old Market, another Sharm neighborhood.

"The hotel was completely burned down, destroyed," said Amal Mustafa, 28, an Egyptian who was visiting with her family and who drove by the Ghazala Gardens.

Update:

Fox television news reports 20 dead from the explosions at this point.

2nd Update: 2:32 AM Pacific, 7/23:

62 people are now dead, according to ABC News:

At least 62 people were killed, Health Minister Mohammed Awad Tag Eddin said. The interior minister earlier said 119 people were wounded and that at least eight foreigners were among the dead.

Interior Minister Habib al-Adli pinned the attack on Islamic militants. "This is an ugly act of terrorism," al-Adli said in a statement carried on the government news agency. "It has nothing to do with Islam, they are only acting under the slogan of Islam."

A group citing ties to al-Qaida claimed responsibility for the bombings that killed at least 62 people Saturday at the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. The group, calling itself the Abdullah Azzam Brigades in Syria and Egypt, made the claim in a statement posted on an Islamic Web site.

It said its "holy warriors targeted the Ghazala Gardens hotel and the Old Market in Sharm el-Sheikh." The authenticity of the statement could not be immediately verified.

The Washington Post has the death toll at 65. CNN has it at 74.

Clearly the militant Islamo-fascists have undertaken a summer offensive, with the 7/7 and yesterday's attacks in London, and now this in Egypt.

You really have to ask yourself just how stupid are these people? Attacking inside Egypt, with the resulting mass casualties?

This obviously raises greater concern here in the United States that these other acts could be a prelude to a similar set of attacks planned here. New York City is certainly taking the appropriate cautions. One would hope that every other major city in the United States will also be raising the its level of vigilance in the wake of these attacks.

Meanwhile, police in London are looking for these four, apparently involved in Thursday's attacks and attempted attacks in London:

It is not yet known if the man shot by police yesterday in London was one of the four from the picture above.
