Poor old Andrew just doesn't possess much of a sense of humor these days:

"[Sullivan] Is fairly unamused with a kids' book called "Help! Mom! There are Liberals Under My Bed." Considering that they have Barney Frank in butt-chaps, I'd like to think the book is a joke. But, there doesn't appear to be any evidence that it's not intended for little kids. Personally, whether it's serious or not, I wouldn't dream of reading something like this to my kid. Though I particularly like that Grover Norquist blurbs it!

Still, Andrew asks "How can you tell when a political ideology has become the equivalent of a religion? When it attempts to indoctrinate 4 - 8 year olds."

One must assume he considers environmentalism, gay rights and feminism -- to name just three -- even more "religious" considering that there are shelves upon shelves of entirely earnest books which try to indoctrinate kids to one or another generally leftwing point of view on these fronts. Heck, there are kids textbooks which do it. And, of course, there's more kids TV programming with deep ideological agendas than it is even possible to list here."
