He probably got his talking points from the Democratic party leadership:
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein told his trial on Wednesday he was beaten in U.S. custody and, in an extraordinary outburst toward the end of the hearing, also said those who had tortured Iraqis should be punished for their crimes...
"I have been hit by the Americans and tortured," he said, speaking purposefully. "I have been beaten on every place of my body, and the signs are all over my body."
Can't wait to see the proof of that torture, but I rather doubt that it will be forthcoming very soon.
