Now some who are criticizing Republicans who are appalled at the FBI raid of William Jefferson's office are resorting to the argument that the Constitution was written long ago, and not all that was on the Founders' minds is appropriate in today's world. True. But aren't conservatives often the first to criticize those on the Left who often speak of a Consitution that is "fluid?" I'd hate to see this argument applied to the Bill of Rights, and especially the First, Second and Fourth ammendments.
I remain in the camp that is disturbed by the Justice Department's action, and it seems as if those who are now reaching for a "fluid" constitution are reaching a bit.
