If you had believed exit polls two years ago then you would have come to the conclusion that by the end of election night John Kerry was going to be elected president. If you believe the exit polls today, at this point in time, then you would come to the conclusion that Republicans are in a bit of trouble.

Since we know that exit polling is highly dubious, to say the least, and no official projections have been made as of yet, we basically know nothing about how the overall election is going to turn out this evening.
