CBS put the final nail in Don Imus's coffin today by taking his radio show off the air.

What is most revealed in this entire sorry affair is the hypocrisy and venemous fury of the likes of Rev. Al Sharpton and, to a lesser extent, the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Jesse "hymietown" Jackson, and Rev. Al "Tawana Brawley" Sharpton will not likely be voicing similar outrage over the completely unfair treatment of the Duke Lacrosse players.

It was appropriate that Imus be disciplined for his stupid and insensitive remarks, but it was inappropriate that the likes of Sharpton and Jackson had any hand in influencing the type and degree of that punishment.
