Mr. President, some people actually believe that we should secure the Southern border before moving to regularize the illegals that are already here. Your comments, after your ineffective meeting on Capitol Hill yesterday, betray that you have not a clue that this is the case. One would have thought that someone at the White House might have enlightened you by now as to what the majority of Republicans in the Senate are thinking.
George W. Bush is in an almost completely insulated political bubble, and it is clear that he is completely out of touch with rank and file Republicans, as well as those who represent them in Congress. This is getting to be almost comical, but it's hard to laugh when such important issues for the nation are at stake.
Is it too much to ask that Mr. Bush display at least some semblance of competence, and an ear for what the people of the country are thinking?
