Dan Rather and Les Moonves are feuding it up. I'll go with Dan Rather, despite my differences with him, who said Moonves "doesn't know about news." That was clear the day Moonves brought Katie Couric over to anchor the CBS Evening News, a decision that is now turning into a monumental disaster for CBS. Moonves thinks that those who are not giving Couric a chance are "sexist." I don't think so. I have not watched a single CBS Evening News program since Katie took the helm, because I knew that it would turn into a fluff program with "tart" pieces, and not continue to be the the serious - although biased under Rather - newscast that it once was. How could it be otherwise? Couric is simply not a serious journalist. What has happened at the CBS Evening News, in terms of ratings and staff morale, should not be surprising. Dan Rather certainly isn't surprised. If Moonves thinks that is "sexist" than CBS has an even bigger problem on its hands than Katie Couric.
