Since Moveon.Org - with its outrageous ad of this morning - has openly questioned the patriotism of General David Petraeus, it is fair game to question the patriotism of that organization and those who knowingly support it.

Those on the left often bristle that their patriotism is being questioned when they are critical of the war effort and/or strategy. Those on the right often fall all over themselves trying to rapidly assure those on the left that their patriotism is not being questioned.

It may be time for that to change. It is my belief that MoveOn.org, and those who would knowingly support that organization's despicable attack on Gen. Petraeus, are not exhibiting patriotism. Indeed, they exhibit a fanatical thought process that would attack or demean anyone who dares to disagree with their view of the facts on the ground on Iraq, or almost any other political issue. It is one thing to criticize the general and his outlook, but to assert that he has "betrayed" his country is beyond the pale of acceptable political discourse.

Indeed, it is time that MoveOn.org and its ilk be called out and challenged anytime that they assert that their patriotism is being challenged. It should be challenged, and the burden is now on them to prove that they have the best interests of their own country at heart. The evidence would suggest that they do not.
