Hillary Returns

Sen. Hillary Clinton returned to work a day after fainting:

Wearing a thick pink scarf around her neck, Clinton, D-N.Y., spent about 90 minutes at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing about benefits for the families of military personnel killed or wounded.

Afterward, Clinton said she recovered, even if her voice still sounded a little scratchy.

"It was just one of these 24-hour `bang' events where you just get really, really sick... I feel good but I have a little bit of a residue," said Clinton.

The 57-year-old former first lady looked much improved from her wan appearance Monday in Buffalo. While speaking at a women's group fund-raiser, Clinton took a break, then returned to the podium to continue, then fainted before resuming her speech. The room was cleared and the senator was checked by a doctor who attended the event.

Clinton went on to deliver another speech later in the day, and aides said she had not changed her Tuesday work schedule because of the illness.
