New York Times In Difficulty

The New York Times is undergoing substantial difficulties. No surprise there. The blogosphere surely is a factor. Jayson Blair et al, as well. The greatest factor is that one need look at the front page of the Times each and every day and be witness to a publication that is a virtual mouthpiece for the Democratic National Committee. Of course, this is not news. What is news is the magnitude of the difficulty the Times has found itself in.

Who knows what the way out will be, or whether the powers that be at the Times even understand that which has brought The Old Gray Lady to this trouble.
